With Nas celebrating its 20th anniversary and revisiting his Illmatic roots, as well as the fact that he’s finally decided to rap over a Dilla beat for the first time ever, I’m personally hoping that he’ll craft music in this same vein and work with producers who are on that same wavelength (read: more DJ Premier and Pete Rock, please). Wishful thinking, sure, but at this point anything is possible.
