Yesterday in my hometown, local boys made good, Styles P and Jadakiss were joined by Mayor Mike Spano to cut the ribbon on the new Juices For Life location at 211 Nepperhan Ave. If you’re familiar with the area, you know the store is just up the block from Whitney Young projects, (or 354 to locals), which is D-Block’s homebase. As it has been since I was a kid, this is a neighborhood plagued by drugs and violence, and with this new business, SP and Kiss aim to bring some positivity to the area.

Kiss noted during the ceremony:

“We want to bring unity to the youth who are engaging in all of this nonsense,” he said. “Here, you pretty much know everybody. As I said before, love is love is our slogan. We don’t tolerate no violence. We’re going to try to settle them down, give them a juice, and help them rectify whatever differences they’re going through, because violence and juice don’t go together.”
